Promoting Armenian culture and arts has been the cornerstone of AGBU’s programming efforts for over a century. In 2012, AGBU proudly established the Performing Arts Department (PAD) with the aim of connecting young Armenian artists worldwide and introducing Armenian art to diverse audiences. Since its inception, it has taken talented musicians and music lovers to Yerevan each summer through the Musical Armenia Program, spread Armenian music and culture to composers of all backgrounds through the AGBU Sayat Nova International Composition Competition, showcased the works of Armenian filmmakers at the Armenians in Film at Lincoln Center series, joined NYSEC for the AGBU Performing Artists in Concert at Carnegie Hall series and organized a host of other events around the globe.
PAD also supports young artists through their Performing Arts Scholarship, Fellowship, and Mini-Grant programs, awarding high-achieving students from around the world in the fields of music, theater, film, art, and more.
