AGBU Young Professionals (YP) Organize the First Summit for European YP Leaders in Lyon

On September 30 and October 1, AGBU Lyon and the AGBU Young Professionals of Lyon (YP Lyon) hosted the first European summit of AGBU Young Professionals leaders, gathering nearly 50 participants from 15 different countries. The summit—conceived by Viken Kojakian (President of YP Lyon Rhône-Alpes) and supported by Camille Mesrobian (Chair of AGBU Lyon) and Haik Khanamiryan (Executive Committee Member, YP Amsterdam)—aimed at initiating new synergies between the YP groups across Europe.

The agenda included presentations on AGBU Europe’s strategy; brainstorming sessions to explore ways to collaborate; discussions on ways to overcome shared challenges and cultivate new ideas and initiatives for the future. The summit’s highlights included talks by Eric Dadian, co-founder of WikiPME, president of the French Association for Customer Relations, and founder of the Cercle des Professionnels Arméniens (CPA); Gautier Cassagnau, co-founder of the Lyon-based start-up Geolid; and Armen Verdian, co-founder of GA Partners and president of Hye Tech Europe. The event was sponsored by the ONLYLYON Ambassador’s Network, dedicated to promoting the city of Lyon abroad.

The event was also attended by AGBU Europe chair Nadia Gortzounian, AGBU Europe director Nicolas Tavitian and Karen Papazian, the interim director of the YP network worldwide, who all brought a wider AGBU perspective to the summit. “It is very heartening to see so many young professionals dedicated to creating a stronger, more powerful network for young Armenians in Europe. I am proud of all of their hard work and look forward to seeing how their ambitious plans develop,” said Papazian. The AGBU Young Professionals network connects close to 20,000 Armenian young professionals in 28 countries through educational, networking, social and fundraising events as well as through global YP gatherings and special YP initiatives geared at serving the needs of tomorrow’s leaders.
