AGBU’s Musical Armenia Program (MAP) is a three-week summer initiative that connects aspiring and professional artists with Armenia’s rich musical heritage.
Since 2012, AGBU’s Musical Armenia Program (MAP) has been inviting musicians of all backgrounds, levels, and nationalities to come together and explore Armenia’s rich musical traditions. From folk to contemporary, liturgical to jazz, classical to blues, the program offers a one of a kind experience to explore the many faces, personalities, rhythms and notes of Armenian music.
Participants attend masterclasses, lessons and lectures by prominent Armenian musicians and musicologists. Cultural activities, concerts and weekly excursions outside of the city are also part of the program. Discovering Armenia – its nature, its city life, its cuisine, its people – are as essential to understanding its music as the technique, musical history, and instruments that distinguish its heritage.
