AGBU Sofia presents “For EU Aid to Artsakh” campaign in Bulgaria

For the 25th anniversary of the Armenia Army and the Liberation of Shushi, AGBU Sofia organized, on May 20, an event to present AGBU Europe’s campaign For EU Aid to Artsakh.

The public attention focused on the appeal of the campaign, claiming for the European Union to provide assistance to the people of Artsakh.

Haik Garabedian, coordinator of the campaign for Bulgaria, share his impressions on his recent visit to Artsakh where he attended a training and planning seminar along with several other campaign coordinators from all over Europe.  He explained how he had the opportunity to meet with local people, with officials and with soldiers, as well as with an NGO working on clearing the minefields in Artsakh.

Dr. Francesco Trupia, a political scientist from Italy, was the special guest of the evening.  Dr. Trupia presented an in-depth analysis of the political, economic and military situation in Artsakh, examining the causes of the conflict and the prospects for the region. The audience was impressed by its genuine commitment to the challenges facing the people of Artsakh.
