Appeal for Nagorno-Karabakh Emergency Relief Fund

7 April 2016

The recent large-scale offensive by Azeri forces against the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) has resulted in the greatest number of casualties since the ceasefire was first declared in 1994.  AGBU is responding to the request for aid for relief efforts.  Many have lost their lives, others have been injured and hundreds more lost their homes. In some cases villages have been destroyed and families evacuated for fear of shelling or invasion.

In these tense times, we ask that you help us to support the families of victims and those affected by the conflict. We must all unite to come to the aid of our fellow Armenians in need.

AGBU calls on its donors and members to promote initiatives for peace to assist the people of Artsakh and raise awareness of the increasingly dangerous situation.  We urge you to do your part by:

  • ·        Donating to our fundraising efforts to help the fallen and injured.
  • ·        Encouraging regional efforts to lobby and make our voices heard in support of peace and security for all citizens and for our homeland.
  • ·        Staying updated on the latest news and sharing it through your networks with the hashtag #Heartsakh and #ArtsakhStrong to encourage the mainstream media’s continuous coverage.

Our thoughts are with those who have fallen and with the families on the ground.  We sincerely hope that you will help through the AGBU Humanitarian Emergency Relief Fund.
